Q: I have real world experience, can I sign up to take one of the tests or do I have to attend the class first?

A: Yes, you *must* attend the CDVP2 Boot Camp before being eligible to take the certification exam.  This is due to all the new materials we offer in the course, which are critical to the Certified Data Vault 2.0 Practitioner.

Q: If I take the Boot Camp Class (coming soon) on-line at LearnDataVault.com – can I elect to take the tests without attending class in person?

A: No. Due to the new materials, the exam is currently only offered in PERSON after attending the course.

Q: Can I take the certification class locally?

A: Yes, either publicly (if we are offering one near you), or if we can put together 6 students or more for an in-company training.  Contact us (here on the form) to inquire about an on-site class.

Q: What’s the difference between DV1.0 and DV2.0 Certification?

A: Data Vault 1.0 Certification only covers Data Vault modeling and is now comprised of knowledge that is 12 years old (as it was released in 2001).

Data Vault 2.0 covers NoSQL, Big Data, Performance Improvements, Implementation, Architecture, and Agile Project Management (including Disciplined Agile Delivery by Scott Ambler).  Data Vault 2.0 Certified Practitioners understand implementation, business data vault, noSQL, Big Data, and ETL performance, including staging and raw Data Vaults built on Hive.

Q: Can I take the certification test on-line?

A: Yes. However, you *must* take the CDVP2 course first.

Q: I have CDVDM certification, can I jump straight to the CDVP2 exam?

A: No.  Due to the new materials, all students wishing to become CDVP2 certified, must enroll in the CDVP2 course in order to qualify for the CDVP2 exam.

Q: Why should I get certified in Data Vault?

A: Take a look at the two supportive pages we have on the site for full answers, that includes: the value of certification, and the benefits of certification.  If you still have questions, feel free to contact us.

Q: Are there any hands on exercises in the certification class?

A: Hands-on Exercises are not offered within the course.  However, we are offering Workshop courses AND Hands-On courses beginning in Q2-2016.

New to 2016 – we do provide hand-outs / take home self-study exercises which you can use during class to assist with review and study for the Certification Exam.  You can find out more by reading the updated agenda.

Q: What if I want to schedule a Data Vault 2.0 Certification Class?

A: Contact me directly, or contact one of my authorized partners listed on this site for further information.  We will work the logistics and work to setup an in-company private certification for you and your team.

As of January 1st, 2016 – The *only* sanctioned and endorsed certification for Data Vault is CDVP2.
